About Us

Tāmaki Healthcare provides healthcare services through a network of primary healthcare providers (largely General Practices) as well as providing primary health services directly to our enrolled population. We do this within the context of the Government’s Primary Healthcare Strategy.

Our core activities include:

  • Funding our member providers to deliver primary healthcare services (mostly doctor and nursing services)
  • Supporting member providers through the provision of quality information and data analysis, workforce development, infrastructure support and advocacy.
  • Delivering services to our enrolled population including outreach services, specialty clinical services, services to increase access, and health promotion.
  • Undertaking health needs assessment, planning and coordination to ensure our services are based on good information, are appropriately prioritised and coordinated, and to track improvements in key health indicators.

In providing our services, we have a particular commitment to reducing health inequities in health care provision and outcomes, with a focus on ‘high-needs’ groups within our population.
